Accounting 801

There will be a test in accounting chapter 7, the worksheet next Thursday.  Binders are due too!  Have a great long weekend!

November 17-20

Students were introduced to Chapter 7 today and took all the notes for the chapter.  For the remainder of the week the focus will be on learning how to complete a worksheet properly and problems for the chapter will be assigned. 

Oct 28- 31- Students worked on handouts and study guide for Chapter 10.  Wednesday is a review day when Reinforcement activity was started.   Thursday is quiz day for Chapter 10.  Remainder of Thursday and Friday will be used to do review exercises for midterm project.  Be sure to complete the Reinforcement activity on page 106 of text / pages 59-64 of workbook.  Also complete handouts given on Thursday, 2-R and another Review Problem handout.   All of this work needs to be finished for Monday and I will go over answers on this day.  Midterm Project to start on Tuesday next week. 

Oct 27 – Reviewed how to reconcile a bank statement when looking at bank statement, cheque stubs, and cancelled cheques.  Went over how to do instructions 4 & 5  from last week.  Gave out next handout.  Reviewed Chapter 6 test.

Oct 20-22 – Exercises from remainder of first handout need to be completed for Monday.  10-D1,  10-D2, 10-D3, 10-2, 10-M, 10-C.  On Monday I will review how to do instructions 4 & 5 for the last 3 questions.

Oct 17 – Review handout from yesterday.  Complete an overhead exercise on reconciling a bank statement.  No homework this weekend unless you have work from previous chapters to finish up.

Oct 16 – All terms for Chapter 10 were defined by students and e-mailed to CSS.  Cheque writing handout was given to complete as well.

Oct 15 – Discussed Chapter 10 topics.  Completed the cheque writing exercise handout.

Oct 14 – Chapter 6 Quiz.  Students to read next Chapter – 10.

Oct 10 – Continue on chapter 6 problems.  Quiz Tuesday.

Oct 7-9 – Chapter 6 problems were explained on Tuesday.  Problems assigned to be covered over next few days are:  Chapter 6 handout, 6-1, 6-2, 6-M, 6-C, 6-R, (handout), 6D1, 6D2, Study Guide, Questions 1-14 from pages 101-102 of text to be completed in your scribbler. 

 Oct 6 – Review problem on Chapters 1-5 completed.  Notes for Chapter 6 given.

September 29-Oct 2 – Today we reviewed  proving the combination journal and proving cash.  Also discussed how to carry forward totals and 5-2 was assigned.  Problems to be completed in Tuesday and Wednesday’s classes (all needs to be finished by the beginning of Thursday’s class) are:  5-1,     5-M, 5-2, 5-C, 5-D1, 5-D2, 5-R, Study Guide, and the review handout if time permits.  Chapter 5 test is on Thursday.

September 25 – Quiz on Chapter 4.  Notes on Chapter 5 and if time 5-M and 5-C to be completed.  5-1 from yesterday is the only homework to be completed for Friday.

September 24 – Started Chapter 5 with discussion and then completed worksheet / overhead activity and 5-1.  Quiz on Chapter 4 on Thursday.

September 22 & 23 – Completed questions from Chapter 4.  These included: 4-R (handout), 4-C, 4D1, 4D2, and the study guide.  Wednesday we will begin Chapter 5.  All work for Chapter 4 needs to be completed for Wednesday.  Thursday we will have our Chapter 4 Quiz and also do notes from Chapter 5. 

September 19 – Continued in Chapter 4.  All work for problems 4-1, 4-2 and 4-M need to be completed for next class.  Have a good weekend!

September 18 - Quiz on Chapter 3.  Began Chapter 4 with notes and a worksheet. 

September 15 & 16 – Completed notes on Chapter 3, worksheet on types of transactions, problem 3-1 and problem 3-2.  Problems to be finished in tomorrow’s class are: 3-M, 3-C, 3-D1, 3-D2, and the study guide.  Our quiz on Chapter 3 will be on Thursday.   

Chapter 1 and 2 now complete.  Be sure to get all notes.  Have the stapled handout and workbook pages 1-13 finished for today.  Quiz and Chapter 1 and 2 today.  No homework this weekend!
